The holiday season is now upon us, and with this we would like to take time to reflect on the past year in radiology and look ahead to the one which is about to begin.
This year has been a busy one for our society, characterised in many respects by a ‘return to normal’. Our travel to international congresses has begun again in earnest. We have held educational courses onsite once more with events being held in Mexico, Austria, Armenia and Bulgaria.
And we have continued expanding our online educational services throughout the year via the ever-growing Premium Education Package. Most importantly of all, this year saw the return of our beloved congress to an onsite format after more than three years.
The European Congress of Radiology 2022 held in Vienna in July was the perfect reunion for our radiological community. The theme of ‘Building Bridges’ truly came to life, driven by a highly multidisciplinary and interactive programme.
We are so grateful to all those who took part, whether they were attendees, speakers, industry representatives or patients. You all contributed to making ECR 2022 an unforgettable event – a summer congress like no other.
Focussing ahead on 2023, we look forward to further cooperation with national and subspecialty societies, non-radiological societies, international and patient organisations, policy makers and industry partners.
Our society is one that is driven by human interactions and the pursuit of perfecting our practice and the patient experience. We relish the opportunity for new challenges, new experiences, and new accomplishments in radiology in the coming year.
Of course, we also look forward to the ECR 2023 where the chance to experience ‘The Cycle of Life’ will be made possible through a unique congress programme filled with cutting-edge science and incomparable education. We hope you will join us on March 1-5 for this special meeting.
Finally, we would like to sincerely thank you for your continued support of the ESR this year. You make our society what it is.
We wish you a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.
